The Collings DS1A Hill Country Series is an exceptional 12-fret Dreadnought that pushes the boundaries of acoustic sound. This body shape was designed nearly a century ago as an oversized Hawaiian guitar. Collings has retained the shape and the wide neck with a slotted headstock from that era, but their DS models are thoroughly modern guitars with a sound entirely their own.
With a powerful, warm bass voice and a dry character, this model delivers a tone with a full low end that feels instantly familiar for various playing styles. The instrument's responsive articulation is versatile enough for fingerstyle, singer-songwriters, and other acoustic styles.
This guitar is built with an Adirondack spruce top and Honduran mahogany back and sides, resulting in a rich tonal spectrum with plenty of dynamics.
